This is a post war M5 Bayonet as manufactured by the J&D Tool Company. It is of the early production run by J&D utilizing a Camillus blade. This is known by the sharp 90 degree backcut on the blade, as opposed to a sloping backcut found on later production. The scabbard is an early V.P. CO. and is correct date wise, with the bayonet, around 1953. There is also a DAS stamp that is not easily discernable on the right of the guard.
